Project Description
Amy Gile
Cahn Fellow 2019
Principal, High Tech Elementary School
Denver, Colorado
Amy Gile has been working in the field of education for twenty-six years in predominantly diverse, inner-city schools of poverty. She has a relentless commitment to ensure that culturally and linguistically diverse students experience a positive and high-quality education. During her career in education, she has acquired a wealth of experiences. She has worked as a special education teacher, classroom teacher, and district special education curriculum coordinator. Most recently, Dr. Gile has been an innovation school leader in Denver Public Schools, serving as opening principal for High Tech Elementary (HTES). During her time at HTES, the school has grown from 200 students to over 600 students. Under her leadership, the school has experienced a high level of academic success. This success is a result of strong, distributive leadership-team structures that ensure the implementation of data-driven instruction, strong planning practices, and differentiated-instructional programming for all students.
