Samantha B. Maisonet has served as principal of PS 151 in Woodside, Queens since August 2013. Dr. Maisonet has been an educator in the New York City Department of Education for 23 years. She began her career in the field of education at PS 225 in Brooklyn, New York, as a classroom teacher. She then worked as a reading teacher in the school for three years. Dr. Maisonet advanced herself to an administrative position as assistant principal at PS 225K, which she held for 11 years. She received a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from SUNY Oneonta, a Master of Science in Reading Education from Brooklyn College, an Advanced Certificate in Administration from Brooklyn College, and a Ph.D. in Educational Leadership from Concordia University Chicago. Dr. Maisonet is strongly committed to education and believes that “every student can be empowered to unlock their full potential” given a supportive and nurturing educational environment.
