Hiliana León leads Albany Park Multicultural Academy, a Chicago Public School since 2013. Located in one of the most culturally diverse neighborhoods, students at APMA learn to embrace cultural diversity as a means to unify rather than divide empowering them to be leaders in their future roles as global citizens. Fluent in both English and Spanish, Hiliana has a Masters of Arts in Educational Leadership and a Masters of Arts in Instructional Technology. After spending over 15 years teaching in predominantly Spanish speaking, low income schools, she moved into the role of assistant principal at Albany Park. An immigrant and English Language Learner herself, she champions a school culture where all students are valued and awarded a high quality education.
