Under Sandra Barrios’ leadership, Jack Lowe Sr. Elementary School has transformed from a low-performing campus to an “A” campus as designated by the Texas Education Agency. Located in the center of refugee and immigrant communities in Dallas, this Title I school is a mecca of diversity. Lowe students come from 50 countries worldwide, representing 25% of the world’s ethnicities. The students and teachers collectively speak over 25 languages. As a first-generation Mexican American child born to immigrant parents, Principal Barrios views education as a calling rather than a job or career.

Her career in education includes 10 years of teaching experience in grades 2nd, 4th, and 5th grade committing to becoming a teacher's advocate before entering administration. In 2014, her administrative career began as she embarked upon the Assistant Principalship and in 2016, the Principalship in Dallas ISD where she has maintained in the district. Being one of ten recipients nationwide, she earned the much-coveted national Terrel H. Bell Award from the United States Department of Education for Outstanding Leadership.

Currently, Sandra Barrios is enrolled at the University of Texas pursuing a Doctoral Degree in Superintendency.

Autumn Moss is a leader on campus at Jack Lowe Sr. Elementary School. Located in the center of refugee and immigrant communities in Dallas, this Title I school is a mecca of diversity. Lowe students come from 50 countries worldwide, representing 25% of the world’s ethnicities. The students and teachers collectively speak over 25 languages. Teaching is her passion and she values relationships over everything else.

Her career in education includes 12 years of teaching experience in grades Kinder, 1st, 2nd, and 4th grade. She continues to commit to educating ESL students in diverse populations. Autumn is considered a pioneer of Personalized Learning and led the charge to acquire the title Personalized Learning campus in 2018. She continues to create student advocates in the classroom and mentor fellow educators to create engaging content and meaningful social-emotional activities. In 2008, she was nominated by fellow educators on campus and won Teacher of the Year.
