Robin Christian has been the principal at Barack and Michelle Obama Academy since 2015. Prior to this role, she served as the principal of Burgess-Peterson Academy for seven years, where she earned a visit from Mrs. Michelle Obama for her healthy school initiatives. Christian began her career in Atlanta Public Schools in 1997 as a teacher after earning a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education from Spelman College. After serving as a teacher she worked as an Instructional Specialist where she learned the importance of supporting and coaching teachers. For her leadership and focus on improving schools across Atlanta, Robin was recently named a 2018 Atlanta Magazine Women Making a Mark honoree. Robin also serves on the Superintendents Principal Advisory council and New Leaders Principal’s Program as a mentor to new principals across the district.
