Melissa Donath has been the Principal of P.S. 22 in Staten Island since 2007. Previously, she served as the Assistant Principal at P.S. 22. She also worked for the Staten Island YMCA where she oversaw Early Childhood Programs as well as the Virtual Y After School Programs. Under her leadership, one of the Virtual Y programs was the first in New York City and the largest in the country to be nationally accredited by the National School Age Child Care Alliance.

As Principal of P.S. 22, Melissa has served as a Host Principal for the Learning Partners Program focusing on language development for English Language Learners. Additionally, P.S. 22 was a Demonstration School for several years with Teachers College Inclusive Project. She received her B.A. in Psychology and Special Education from Marist College, an M.S. in Early Childhood Special Education from Adelphi University and her administration degree from the College of St. Rose.

ALLY

Stacey Rappaport, a graduate of SUNY Oneonta, Brooklyn College and Touro College is an Assistant Principal at Public School 22 for the past three years. She collaborates with all key stakeholders to ensure students receive targeted instruction that is both meaningful and rigorous.

Stacey believes students learn best by doing-exploring, sharing and problem-solving to make meaning of new and familiar concepts. Developing and maintaining connections with students and families is a priority.

As a former instructional coach and lower-grade teacher for the past eighteen years, she has incorporated scientific-based strategies into classrooms to impact student achievement.
