Melody Kellogg is the founding principal of Emma Lazarus High School. ELHS opened in 2009 with the mission of creating a safe, secure, and academically rigorous environment for over-age English language students. Kellogg’s holistic model is based on a strong belief in ELL students' ability to be successful given aligned academic and socio-emotional supports. ELHS has been nationally and locally recognized for its success with late entry, older second language students. Kellogg received her Bachelor's degree from Penn State in Politica l Science, her Master’s Degree in Guidance from St. John’s University, and her Ed.D. in Education Leadership from The Sage Colleges.
