Rebecca Salgado was appointed as the principal of Ruskin Elementary School in 2015. Prior to her appointment, Mrs. Salgado served in the capacity of Assistant Principal of Elementary Instruction at Ruskin Elementary. She hails from the beautiful island of Puerto Rico, her home for 23 years! She attended the University of Puerto Rico, Bayamon Campus and graduated Cum Laude. She then went on for her masters in Educational Leadership, graduating Summa Cum Laude. Her leadership emphasizes in making connections with students. Her career has focused on serving the needs of the most vulnerable students. As a child,she grew up in an underserved community and she understands the challenges her students face daily. Her goal is to promote equity and a personalized learning environment in which all students at Ruskin Elementary will feel safe, accepted and included.
