Kurt Siebold, has been the principal of Slavens K-8 School since August 2007. Prior to his time at Slavens, he was a full-time business owner, Principal, Assistant Principal and teacher of both elementary and high school students. His mission is to encourage teachers as they help students develop into compassionate, ethical and productive human beings who are engaged in their learning. He has worked to establish a culture that supports the development of the whole child through exposure to the arts, music, physical education & STEM. He emphasizes life skills for his students like "Being Proactive" and "Seeking First to Understand". Under his leadership, Slavens has been recognized as a National Blue Ribbon School. He has been married for 35 years and has four children and one "just arrived" grandchild as of January 2019. He enjoys his eight-mile commute by bike to school as often as the weather permits.
