Christina M. Villavicencio was appointed as principal of P.S. 197Q in September 2011. Ms. Villavicencio’s education philosophy is rooted in equity and excellence for all scholars and she believes “all children can learn” regardless of their individual challenges. She has been advocating for her scholars by implementing innovative strong social emotional responsive practices in combination with rigorous instruction. Ms. Villavicencio has been an educator for 25 years and has worked in the following positions: ESL/Bilingual coordinator; Literacy Coach; Assistant Principal; Regional EL L Instructional Supervisor; and lastly as an ELL Director for Network 609. Ms. Villavicencio received a B.A. in English Literature, Masters of Science in Bilingual Education from Fordham University and a Professional certificate from the College of St. Rose.
